I was looking into alternative forms of advertising last night and I started thinking about Facebook again. I decided to do a little investigation and found that Facebook offers a program called Social Ads. They allow you to choose either a Cost Per Click (CPC) model or a Cost Per Thousand Impressions (CPM) model. For each of these you either bid a price you would pay per click (CPC) or a price you would pay for one thousand page impressions for your ad (CPM). After looking over this, I decided that I would go ahead and run a one day CPM ad campaign. Facebook allows you to set a maximum daily budget, so I set mine to $5.00. I targeted my ads at a demographic of people 18 and older who are interested in Technology, Computers, Blogging, TiVo, or the Internet. The ads should start running tonight at midnight, so I guess we’ll see what happens.
For those of you who have found my blog via one of my ads on Facebook, WELCOME! Please feel free to take a look around. If you liked the idea of building your own DVR, which is what the ad stated, take a look here. I give you an entire two part guide on how to do it. Aside from that, there are plenty of other interesting articles, so enjoy!
UPDATE:
As of 8AM EST. I have gotten 3000 page impressions (since 12AM) and 3 click throughs. I guess that’s fairly decent.
UPDATE:
As of 2PM EST. I now have around 6000 page impressions and 10 click throughs. I’m actually pretty happy with these results so far.
FINAL UPDATE:
Well, my ad campaign has finished. I ended up with just over 11,000 impressions and 18 click throughs. For $5.00, I guess I can’t ask for too much. I’m happy with the results and I’m considering running another campaign in the near future. Thanks to all of you that stopped in to visit!

Hey:
I followed the link on Facebook and am looking around your blog (your ad dollars, at work!). Seems like an interesting one.
